Winter weather

Dogs are funny. It has been raining here for the last 3 weeks a lot. A. Lot. Like our driveway floods and the creek in back becomes class 5 rapids. We live at the base of the mountains so it's not surprising. But it never fails, when it initially starts raining the dogs will not go outside. They will touch the wet grass and pull back like it's hot lava. I always ask them if they want some kamik rain boots (I personally like the flowered ones but that's me :) After it's been raining awhile though it is not only okay to go out in it but perfectly acceptable to hang out outside, get all wet and preferably muddy, then come back in the house. I have little paw prints all over my wood floors from their wet, muddy feet. At first I tried to keep the floor clean but I gave that up. I clean the floor once a day and whatever happens, happens. I'm not going to stress about it until spring....
