A new brother

Wow, it's been a while since I got a chance to write here. So much has happened since June of 2014. The short version is, we lost Axl in June of 2016 to prostate cancer and we moved to Arizona in July of 2016. There is obviously a lot more to the story, but that at least puts us in the right context. It's been just me and Lola for the last 2 years. We are the only ones that made the move and we've been living the life in Arizona. Lola is going to be 10 this year and I'm going to be 7.  Mom has started me on a workout program. RunBuddyMobile brings doggy treadmills to our house and I get on one for 30 minutes once a week. It really helps with my arthritis. Mom says I bounce around here now like a puppy again. I feel great that's for sure. Lola is getting older and slowing down. She doesn't play around as much as she used to but she still has her moments.

Since moving here life is very different. Mom and Dad take us all kinds of places. When they don't work we go to the dog park. We've made lots of friends at the dog park and we have parties here where people come over with their dogs. It's cool. Sometimes it's annoying and I'm not sure that Lola likes it, but I do. I love people and dogs are okay.

I heard Mom and Dad talking about a new dog, Maverick. We went and met him on Thursday night. He looks like me. But he seemed like a nice enough dog. From what I hear, he will be coming to live with us. Hmmmm...not sure how I feel about that. Lola and I have been the only dogs for 2 years now. I'm not sure if I remember what it will be like to have a male in the house again. I guess we are going to pick him up today. Mom already has him scheduled for classes so he can learn to behave, that's a good thing. Here's a picture of Maverick:

Okay, this blog has been neglected for too long. I'm going to have to make sure to write here more often. Especially now with a new dog in the house. I'll come back later and fill in the details of everything that has happened in the last  4 years. I think I need a new name for this blog too. I don't live in Hawaii anymore. Though I still am a Hawaiian Swissy....hmmm...I'll have to go talk that over with Mom.
