One thing I've come to realize is that in order to have dogs that can be taken anywhere, you have to take them everywhere. I'm noticing with Bella that the more places I take her the better she is going new places. I'm sure just taking her places helps but also it's a trust thing. She knows that the places I take her will be at worst boring and at best fun. Never dangerous or scary, well maybe a little scary sometimes. But she is awesome going place and I want to keep taking her as often as possible. Also, I'm beginning to think that it's not necessarily the training that makes them such good, well behaved dogs, but exposure to new things. When they learn how to behave in response to a variety of situations, things become common place to them and they behave in all situations.
So towards that end, I've been taking Bella places. Last Monday a new Petco opened here in Kaneohe. I have to say, even though they are a bit expensive, I love Petco. They have everything you could need for animals, some of which is very hard to get here in Hawaii. I wouldn't be surprised to find out they offer
document scanning services, though that's probably more for Office Depot or something. Anyway, I took her to the blessing and store opening:

Yesterday I had to take my car in for some service so I took Bella with me and we cruised around Kailua town. Here we are sitting in the park watching the world go by.
The other day she was sitting in the yard all by herself looking so regal and grown up, I just had to take a picture. It's hard to believe we've only had her for 5 months, seems like she's been here forever.
