Axl is getting better

and you have no idea how happy that makes me. We took them out for their walk tonight and there was 2 other dogs at the school where we take them. It used to be I would see other dogs and head for the hills. Now, I want Axl to see them. I want him to become anxious and to learn to calm himself down. So I walked where I knew Axl would see them, and he did, and he did not lose his mind. He whined and circled and got anxious but did not lose his little tiny mind. I was so happy. He kept his eye on them but really kept himself in check. You have no idea what huge progress that is. I am so happy I can hardly stand it. After the other dogs left it took Axl about 10 minutes to calm down completely, but he did!! He calmed completely down and we finished our walk - it was wonderful. I feel like such a geek getting all excited about this but the way he used to flip out made walking a complete impossibility. It's nice to have an almost normal dog. I'm so happy maybe I'll look into Destin Florida condo rentals for him. Right!! Like he would be okay going to Florida!! That's just silly :)
