This week has been rough on the animals. I'm back to work and Hubby was working nights for the past 2 weeks. Hubby would come home for a couple of hours in the middle of the but then I was off to class at night. This meant very little time for the animals. I would come home at night and the dogs were absolutely wild. I felt bad but what could I do, sometimes life is like that. Tonight is Hubby's last night working late so next week he'll be home with the animals. Also, my night classes end in 1 week so I'll be home too. Yea!!!
We went to the dog park today, I wish I could take them more often but it's hard when I work and the dog park is 30 minutes away. When they haven't been there all week they are way too hyper when we do go. It puts them on edge and makes them a little feisty. That's when I worry. Today there was a very nervous dog in the park and that was making all the dogs a little edgy. It was okay until the very end. A pretty dominant Siberian came in and really made that Rottweiler scared. Unfortunately all the other dogs picked up on it and they wouldn't leave her alone. Especially Axl. Luckily by they he was tired and easy to distract. Another thing I don't understand is why people don't realize that dragging a dog by the collar or picking it up in the dog park is not a good idea. As soon as you drag a dog by the collar the energy of the dog changes, it usually tries to get away, and that attracts other dogs. Also, picking a dog up puts it into a vulnerable position that it can't defend itself from. Other dogs seem to sense that. Then, to make things worse, they will pick the dog up and then turn away from the other dogs. This only attracts them and makes them think it's some kind of weird game. I don't know.
That's about it on the animal front. I have a bird club meeting tomorrow and will probably take Sammy. He likes to go to them. After that I guess I'll take the dogs to the park. Hopefully it will be very uneventful.
