Axl and walking

Axl has never walked well on a leash. Never. When we got him he pulled like crazy. When we walked him all the time it got a little better, but this is something that needs constant attention and hubby would get tired or angry and stop doing it. Since I started walking the dogs a few weeks ago, I've been working on Axl's walking skills. I use a harness like this one, it seems to work best for him. I have tried almost everything else on the market. Gentle leaders. Halti. Sense-ation leash. Everything. I ended up back at the walking harness because it just works best for him. I have started making him walk right by my side and no sniffing or peeing, just walking. Every few minutes I will stop and let him smell and pee. He is starting to get the hang of it and it is really nice. I love walking my dogs, but I prefer they walk nicely and Axl is getting there.

Lola on the other hand needs some work. She walks well. Doesn't pull too much, but does a lot of sniffing and peeing. I have to stop that. And Bella, is an angel to walk. She is excited for the first couple minutes but then settles in to walking next to me. I love walking that girl. Can not wait to start her training on Wednesday. I want to get her CGC and started on the way to therapy do.
