Where have I been

Well, it was the end of the school year so things were a little crazy at work. Then with the part time job, that made things even crazier.  Now school is over and I'm on summer break - woo hoo!!!!  Still working the part time job though.  Anyway, things are okay here. The dogs aren't getting walked as much and they are not happy about that but they are surviving.  Bella's limp is worse I think.  The vet wanted to wait until she was older to see if she would outgrow it but I'm really getting concerned now.  When she gets up from sleeping she can hardly walk on it and it takes a couple of  steps until she can walk normally.  It definitely doesn't look good.  I have to take her to the vet for a recheck on her mange - which I think is all gone - and I'll have him look at her leg then. I'm not going to do x-rays or anything just have him examine it to see if he can feel any problems.  It does not seem to really bother her, she plays and runs and carries on with the big dogs all the time, so I don't think she's in any pain.  That's good. Of course, the way these 3 run around here you would think someone would get hurt.  It looks like it should be a Brooklyn Accident Lawyer's dream. Thankfully none of them has gotten hurt yet or at least they don't act like they are hurt.

Speaking of the big dogs - we refer to Lola and Axl as the big dogs and Bella as the puppy. Well, Bella passed Lola in size about a month or so ago and now Bella has passed Axl in size. She stands about an inch or so taller than he does. Axl is very long and lanky, he has long legs for his body. Well, now Bella's are longer. I do not know how much she weighs right now since we haven't been to the vet in a couple of weeks. I do know she is getting more solid and filling out some. I knew after the 6 month mark her growth would slow down and change - ie she would start filling out more instead of just growing taller - but it hasn't slowed that much. I just looked it up and female swissys stand between 23 and 27 inches at the shoulder. Bella is 22, so she has a little more growing to do. Axl is about 21 inches and Lola is only 19 inches. Poor little Lols... but she's a toughy and can stand up to all these big dogs.
