Adjusting to the work schedule

For the 7 weeks I was home my animals got pretty spoiled.  The dogs just enjoyed me being around all day.  We didn't do anything special but they liked that I was here.  The birds loved it because they got out of their cages early in the morning and didn't get put back in until dark.  They really enjoyed it.  Now that I'm back to work the dogs are alone and the birds spend the day in their cages.  I should note that their cages are filled with toys and food and branches to climb on and lots of things to do.  It's not like they have to sit in a cage with nothing else. But being out and being able to move around is obviously much better.  What is funny is how quickly they notice if the slightest thing has been changed.  It's almost like they have scanning software in their heads. One thing out of place or new and they are right there to check it out. They are funny. But everyone is slowly adjusting to the new schedule....we will all survive.

Hubby is working nights for 2 weeks and I attempted to walk the dogs by myself. The first couple of days it was okay but the 3rd day we scared a rabbit. It shot off and they both tried to take off after it. Holding both of them back was tough, really tough. I'm sure the folks in their cars were laughing their asses off at us. Anyway, that was the last solo walk. They will just have to live without for another week. I'm thinking that walking more than one dog at a time requires incredibly well trained dogs. Mine are getting good but they are no where near that good. So the end of solo walking for now.
