Break is over

Tomorrow I go back to work.  That is good and bad.  It's good because 7 weeks is a long time to just hang around the house.  Definitely not something I'm used to. I always say that I would love to work out of the house but that is absolutely not true.  I like the thought of working out of the house but the actually being around the house all day just does not work for me.

The bad part is that the animals are going to miss me. The birds spend 6-10 hours out of their cages when I'm home.  I let them out around between 8-10 in the morning and they stay out until almost 7 every night.  Some days, if I have to go out, they don't get out until 1 or 2, but that's rare.  They are going to hate spending most of the day in their cages.  Also, the dogs are going to hate it.  I think Axl has really calmed down with me being around all the time.  Neither of them bark as much and if something scares Axl instead of freaking out, he comes running to me. That is awesome.  He is looking at me as protection and a source of security.  That's what we were aiming for.  Before he felt like he had to be the leader and take care of everything.  Clearly he's losing that feeling and letting me take over.  When he runs into any situation where he's not sure what to do, he runs to me.  That is so great.  I just hope we don't lose that by me going back to work.  But I don't think we will.  This neighborhood is so quiet during the day there's nothing much to freak him out.

Classes don't actually start until Thursday.  Monday and Tuesday we have meetings - which I'm hoping will get out early.  Wednesday is orientation day.  This is where the students get their photos taken for their ids, actually the teachers do too.  Then the new students get a tour of the school and get shown where their classrooms are so they know where they are going.  Also, students have the opportunity to buy their textbooks for the year, after all we are a private school, and one last chance to sell textbooks back from previous years. I'm hoping that on Wednesday we get out early too.

Today, it's a long walk with the dogs, cleaning house and getting ready to go back to work....Yikes.....
