I am bound and determined for Axl and Lola to be the perfect dogs. I ordered some books off Amazon and I'm busy reading. I got Cesar's Way by Cesar Milan and that's the one I'm deep into now. You know, I think people write him off by what they see on TV. You have to remember, he may have been there with those people for days but only 30 minutes get shown on TV. You are probably not seeing the full story of what he did and how. Anyway, Cesar's Way is very, very good and he is confirming many things I've always thought. Not to brag, but I am kind of intuitive with animals. I'm hyper-aware of their body language since they can't speak. As a result I tend to pick up on things quicker than most people. Well, many of the things I've noticed with my dogs through the years is being confirmed by Cesar. I'm not going to go into detail here but suffice it to say it's an interesting read and I look forward to using some of his suggestions. I also ordered some books on tracking. I think by giving Axl and Lola a "job" they will be happier and cause less trouble than they do now. So we are going to start tracking and mastering the walk.
Where am I going to find all the time to do this you might ask. Well, I sign my new contract tomorrow. That means I will get paid for taking a 6 week vacation this summer. Looks like having to find a job will not be on my list of things to do. But if I train Axl well maybe he can find one :)
