Wish I could handle them both

but I just can't.  I've come to the realization that getting Axl out and exposed to as many different things as possible is really going to help him.  I think, and lord knows I'm no expert, but I do think that limiting a dogs exposure to things helps make them fearful of new things.  So this morning I'm going to take Axl for a hike, I just wish I could take Lola too but I can't handle them both.  I'm guessing that it's better to work on Axl since he seems to be the one with all the issues.  Once I can handle him fairly easily adding Lola in really won't be much of a problem. I just feel bad leaving her behind even though she stays with Daddy and usually gets a special treat like a new bone or something.  Also, Axl has a lot more energy than she does.  He can go for days where Lola gets tired after about 30 minutes.  Part of the point of this is to wear him out so he's easier to train and I can't wear him out when Lola is along.  I am seriously thinking of getting some fitness equipment that Axl can use, like a treadmill. I could put him on it for 20-30 minutes, tire him out, then take him and train him. I think that would work. A tired dog is easier to control.Anyway, Sunday mornings are going to become mine and Axl's time together - he's a momma's boy anyway, and I think this will help him build trust in me and that will help us both.  Okay, we are off to hike.
