Best Friends in Utah calls the dogs they took in from Michael Vick's place the Vicktory dogs and this is their legacy:
A multi-state dog fighting ring has been broken up. Over 400 dogs have been taken into custody and they are going to be evaluated for temperament and rehabilitation. In the past, once the case was over, these dogs would have been put down without question. It was thought that once a fighting dog they could never live a normal life. The legacy of the Vicktory Dogs is that dogs like this are no longer sentenced to death. These dogs are now given a chance at a normal life. These dogs are taken from the hell of dog fighting and given a chance to know love and security. What Michael Vick did was horrendous and no one should ever do that again, but some good has come out of his evil. The Vicktory Dogs have become ambassadors not only of their breed but of animals that have been abused. There are many cases where I disagree strongly with the HSUS, but in this case I support them. I hope those dogs find loving homes and live out their lives in peace.
