The birds

I seem to spend a lot of time writing about the birds. Of course I spend a lot of time feeding the birds, and cleaning the birds, and interacting with the birds, so I guess it's only right that I spend a lot of time writing about the birds. I love my dogs just as much as I love my birds but they are older and sedate and don't do things other people would find interesting. I think everything they do is interesting but I'm the Momma!!

So a couple of bird things today. First is the rescue love birds. These guys are doing really, really well. They are adjusting quite nicely. Last week we made them a platform to rest on but they haven't been using it much. Then yesterday I noticed them on it a lot. Today they were on it quite a bit too. The yellow one, with the problem legs, seems to really use it a lot and that was the whole point.


Then there was Sammy who spent the afternoon in the living room watching me clean the other birds cages. He doesn't spend a lot of time in the living room because it's kind of scary for him. But I try to get him out there as much as possible and try it make it as fun and not scary as possible.


Then there was Mr. Peanut. He has this elaborate branch network on top of his cage that allows him to travel around quite a bit. From the branch he can get to the top of the doorway but he can't get down, so he stays up there until I come rescue him.
