Birds in strange places

This afternoon I had to go to an interview for my application to graduate school. I got there early and walked around a little. This school is located in downtown Honolulu in an older are that is kind of funky. There are a lot of little shops in and around the university. I love this area and haven't been there for about 2 years. So I cruised the 'mall'. As I was passing a florist I saw some birds?!?! There were 2 birds outside the florist. I had to stop and look and take pictures.

This is Suzy the African Grey. She's pretty large for a grey.

And this is her friend Pumpkin. This love bird had the prettiest colors I've seen. There were yellow feathers on the chest and back and beautiful blue on the tail. Clearly it's a mix.

They spend the day on the mall here and then go home at night.

Their cages have locks so no unauthorized person can take them, and there are signs saying don't touch they bite, but please talk to them. I think this is great. The Birds get lots of attention and see lots of folks all day long yet they go home at night. Very nice.
