Things have been rather quiet here on the animal front. The birds are all fine. I am picking up 4 more cockatiels today so that should be interesting. The dogs are good. They are still not getting regular walks but that is something I am really going to push from now on. Every night we are home we are going to walk them.
Bella has started obedience class again and I just have to say - Wow, she is smart!!! Last week I only got to train her 4 times and she was great in class. Imagine if I trained her every day!!! That will be part of the walking I need to get back into. Did I mention I'm trying to put together a birthday party for her and her siblings? I contacted the person we got her from and am waiting to hear. I would love to get them all together again - what a hoot that would be.
I have a Facebook friend who also had a Swissy. Her Swissy is about 4 months younger then Bella. Recently she had to take him in for surgery to his shoulder because he had Osteochondrosis dessicans or OCD. That is a where the cartlidge doesn't develop right. It happens in large/giant dogs who grow rapidly. Bella has had a limp pretty much since we got her. I am freaking myself out about this. I need to come up with the money and have her checked out that's all.... The first time we brought this up to a vet when she was about 4 months old, he said to wait. It hasn't gotten worse but it hasn't gotten a whole lot better either. So I need to have it checked out for my own peace of mind.
Otherwise things are well. For a while there all the dogs were sleeping on our bed at night. That left little room for the humans and it felt like we had an electric mattress pad it would get so hot. Luckily they have taken to sleeping in various parts of the house now. Bella tends to sleep in the bathroom on the little rugs. Axl likes to sleep in the hallway on the carpet. And Lil Lola sleeps outside on the steps, at least I think that's where she sleeps. That's nice because it leaves much more room for us and it's not near as hot.
I guess that's all. I'm worried about Bella now and may have to schedule and appointment ASAP........
