Back to square one

For the past three weeks walks with the dogs have been sporadic at best. Between working and illness and drenching downpours I think we've managed 3 walks in the last 3 weeks. Tonight we are finally able to take them again and stick to a schedule. So we went. What a freaking nightmare. First off, in the last 3 weeks some new dogs have moved into the neighborhood. Secondly, Axl and Lola have forgotten everything we have taught them in the last 11 months. Nice.... It was difficult and embarrassing. We intended to do our normal 45 minute walk but they were so out of control that we turned back early. They were pulling and lunging at everything they saw and just basically being idiots. We have a lot of ground to make up. I'm confident we can do it but it's going to take some time to get them back where they were. I wish it were like bicycle riding or atv riding, once you do it you never really forget how. But alas, dog walking is not like those things when you have dogs with issues. I was reading a blog today and the writer was saying it took 3 years to get their fear aggressive dog to where it's a good dog. Great, I'm only 1 year in. 2 more to go. Anyway, I'm hoping that I learn some useful information at this seminar on Saturday. I can use any help I can get with these 2.
