Not much to say tonight...

I just feel bad if I don't check in every couple of days and the last thing I need is more stress because I haven't posted in a while.... So I thought I'd throw something out there. Actually, that's not completely true there is something on my mind. Axl is such a nose dog!! I've never had a dog that used their nose as much as he does. He smells absolutely everything, all the time. He stands in the yard and just puts his nose in the air and sniffs in all directions. Lola uses her nose a lot too, but not to the extent of Axl. So I've been thinking of working with him and trying to start him on tracking. I want to do this for a number of reasons. First, it will bring us even closer together. I really feel over the last month or so that I've turned a corner and really bonded with the dogs, but I want it to be even closer then it is. Working with them on something like tracking will help that. Second, I think if he has a "job" and a skill he is good at it would help his confidence and calm his fears. Finally, it's a good way to play with the dogs. So I'm looking into how to train for tracking on my own and I think I'll start working, with both of them, but primarily Axl. I think it would be good for all. Of course, if I do that I may have to start taking them hiking so we can do some serious tracking. If that's the case I better get some life insurance quotes on both me and the dogs :)
