Tsunami Warning

We are having the first potentially major problem since Katrina. An earthquake off Chile has generated a Pacific tsunami. They are preparing shelters and evacuation sites in case the worse happens. The really good news is that the bus company is putting on extra buses to help move evacuees and they are allowing riders to bring their animals as long as they are in carriers or on leashes. Yea!! Finally a little common sense prevails. We are lucky in that we don't live in the tsunami zone so we do not have to evacuate but believe me I was already trying to figure out how we would do it with 2 dogs and 10 birds. I think we need to get more bird carriers for the future. Even with all this good news, I bet there are tourists in Waikiki wishing they had considered Orlando vacation packages instead of coming to Hawaii :)
