Dogtown is back.

Dogtown is new this Friday night. I really love this show. Between this show and the Dog Whisperer I have learned a ton about dogs. Friday's show is about a dog from the Lebanon-Israel war and a blind retriever mix. Both have aggression issues and the folks at Dogtown help them work it out. I can not tell you how much I have learned watching these shows. The more I can learn about dogs the more I can help Axl. I realized that I was lucky with all my previous dogs and was able to skate by without a whole lot of knowledge. Axl though is causing me to learn and grow. Thankfully I don't have to know anything about prenatal vitamins and that's a good thing.

Tonight when we walked the dogs, Axl got loose when Hubby accidentally dropped the leash. Hubby started to chase him and I told him to stop. I had ahold of Lola and called Axl and he naturally came running. He gets jealous if Lola gets attention and he doesn't. It was a little scary for a second but a crisis was averted. But I learned not to chase him from watching these type of shows and from learning his body language and what gets his goat so to speak.

So watch Dogtown on Friday....

If you like to read about dog behavior... I highly recommend Culture Clash by Jean Donaldson. Amazing book!
