The Fosters

Not Axl and Lola, the other fosters. A week ago the rescue place that I fostered Axl and Lola (and adopted them) through needed fostering for 2 feral puppies. They were about 5 months old and found in a field with their mom. I agreed to take them in for a couple of reasons. First, I want Axl and Lola used to dogs coming and going. With Nala and Rocco we made the mistake of never bringing in other dogs and they go so we couldn't. I don't want that to happen again. Also, by fostering these puppies the rescue waived their adoption fee. It seemed like a good trade off at the time. Boy, was I wrong.

This is them, Kai and Ipo. They only weigh about 20 lbs and aren't very large but man are they terrors. They were feral so they have none of the people skills that puppies raised in a house have. They do a lot of puppy things but they also do things that are just unusual. Jumping on the kitchen table and counters like a cat. They are also escape artists. We lock Axl and Lola in the back part of the yard when we leave because Lola will stand at the front gate barking all day if we don't. Well these two little monsters have gotten out of every type of fence we've constructed. No matter how high they have managed to make their way over it. It's insane. And they get into and chew everything. Everything!!! Needless to say we've had enough of this. I've contacted the rescue and told them they have to find a new foster for these two because we can't do it anymore. I feel bad but these two and us is just a bad match - that's all. There is someone out there who is looking for dogs just like these two and they will make the perfect family. I just have to remember if we foster again not to take puppies. They have chewed up so many things around here, I'm just glad they didn't get to my laptop memory - that would have been horrible.

Okay, enough of this nonsense, I have to get to the shelter to help the animals that were rescued yesterday. More on that later.
