I can't believe another week has flown by. Amazing. I picked up 4 cockatiels last weekend and one of them had a lump on the side of it's face. I took it to the vet last Sunday and they have no idea what it is. They punctured it and this brown, ugly fluid came out. Since there was one starting to develop on the other side, the vet punctured that one too. That one had blood though. Hmmm...They don't know what it is. It came back and seems to be spreading around the birds neck. Oh well. If they don't know what it is they have no hope of curing it so there is no reason to take it back. Right?? Having birds is really difficult. We know so little about them, it's amazing. Taking them to the vet is usually an exercise in futility.
The bird vet though has expanded their office and hours. For years to only vet open after 5 or 6 at night was a place I would not take my dog to die. They were horrible and almost every time I went there I had a problem with them. When I got Bella spayed, they were the only vets around here that took the certificates. You have no idea what mental grief it caused me to take her there. Luckily everything worked out just fine. Anyway, the vet I took the bird to has expanded and taken over the whole building they are in. And it's a nice place it might even be one of those steel buildings you hear advertised. Anyway, they are now open until midnight and have a vet on call from midnight until 7 am for emergencies. You have no idea how awesome it is to know if something happens I don't have to take any of my animals to that other place. Yeah!!! Now the problem is that the orthopedic vet is in that other place and I will have to take Bella there again to have her shoulder checked out. Bummer......
And another week goes by
