The Crew

Axl & Lola Brother and sister pitbull/sharpei mixes. Just about 1 year old and very, very high energy. Axl has some fear issues that we are trying to work through and Lola is way too smart.

Mr. P, Ricci, and Tweety - Ringneck parakeets. All three talk up a storm, I'm just waiting for them to start talking to each other.

Sherlock - A mustached parakeet. He's about 8 months old and we are unsure he's a he. I guess we'll find out.

The Rest of the Crew

Chubs and Kiko - a pair of cockatiels that have yet to produce viable eggs.

The Parakeets - we began with a pair of English Budgies but one got out. We then adopted 2 white parakeets to keep the English company. They had 3 babies. The English is blue & known as Rocky, while the white ones are indistinguishable and collectively called the Angels.

Stanley is doing great

A comment was left on my entry yesterday and told me Stanley is doing great. He is being fostered by Respect-A-Bull in Vancouver and is doing fabulously. Here is what he looks like now:
He also has a Facebook page.
I have a huge soft spot for bullies, just look at my sidebar, and Stanley really, really struck a cord in me. If he wasn't in Canada I'd try and adopt him but a long trip to Hawaii might not be the best thing for him at this point. But I would love to give him a forever home. I think him and Axl and Lola would make a great pack, but that's the problem with living in Hawaii. I love happy endings and I don't think it could have happened to a more deserving dog.  Yea Stanley!!!  And thank you Monica for informing me where he is.

Bullies are such a misunderstood breed.  I always tell people, you have not been loved until you've been loved by a pit bull.  They are the most loving dogs I've ever met and I've known or had all the "family pet" dogs - the labs and goldens, etc. Whenever I see a litter of pit bull puppies I think of them as loose diamonds. They can become beautiful, shining examples of their breed or they can be used by humans to destroy things. I always pray that they all end up in loving homes. I wish I could take them all in but I can't but I can educate people about how special this breed is.
