That would be Sherlock. He's the green one way up at the top of the photo, the one bending down. The other green one looking up is Mr. P, and the blue one in back is Ricci. Sherlock has this cry that is really annoying.  The good part is he seems to be dropping it.  When we got him the owners said that the husband was getting deployed and the wife would be traveling back and forth to the mainland.  They didn't want to have to worry about finding sitters for Sherlock and shuffling him from place to place.  They also told us that he hates when anything in his cage is changed and throws a fit if anything is different.  They also could not pick him up with their hand.  They have this rubber ring they would pick him up with and then put their finger behind him and he would back onto their finger.  Well, having had him a week now, we have decided that they got a bird and got in over their heads and it took them 5 months to realize it.  In just a couple of days we had him trained to step up on our finger from anywhere.  On his second day here we stuck all kinds of toys and branches in his cage to keep him busy.  Not only did he not throw a fit, he loves the stuff.  The above picture was taken on his third day here.  Not exactly a scaredy bird.... They also said that he was a good eater but for the first day or so he wouldn't eat anything but seeds.  He slowly started eating the fresh food I gave him everyday and then it dawned on me.  They fed him junk food.  That is not good for a bird.  Whenever I get new birds I have to play around with what I feed them until I find diets that work for each of them. So that's what I've been doing for Sherlock. Once a bird starts eating junk it's hard to get them back to good food but they will eventually eat it, once they get hungry enough. Right now he's sitting on my shoulder biting my ear. He has no manners at all.
