After spending 3 days helping the rescued animals I stayed home on Wednesday with my guys. I took the dogs to the dog park early in the morning and they had a really good time. Then I just took it easy the rest of the day recovering from all that work. Thursday and Friday was teachers meeting at school so I spent the days there. Then Friday night I got a call from the rescue group, they had found someone willing to take the two fosters we had. Not only were they willing to take them, the wanted to come out right then and get them. Oh joy!! These are cool little dogs but we are not little dog people. We are big dog people. Big dogs are generally calmer then little dogs. They seem to be easier to handle. We are definitely not little dog people. Also, with the way those two could escape things I was really afraid they were going to get out of the yard one day. Plus, Axl was picking up some bad habits from them like jumping on people and biting. It's one thing when a little 10 lb dog jumps on you, it's quite another when a 50 lb pit who's almost as tall as you does. So the people came and got those two and took them home Friday night. It was amazing. The change in energy level in the house was immediate. Axl does not jump anymore. They don't beg when we are eating dinner. It's wonderful to have the house back to normal. One thing that drove me crazy was the way those two would just randomly jump. I would be sitting on the couch working on my laptop when all of a sudden there was a dog in my lap. At one point I thought that I needed more computer memory on one of my laptops because it wasn't working right. Turns out the little ones had hit something when they jumped up on it. I'm just happy they are gone. The house is back to normal and my two are quite relaxed now. It only Axl hadn't killed that dove in the house yesterday, but that's another story.....
