A post I've been avoiding

I haven't wanted to post an update on the animals because quite frankly I don't want to think about it. Nala is not doing well at all. The leg she no longer uses is swelling up. Because she doesn't use it the fluids are not getting moved out. Many of our fluids are moved through our body with the movement of our body. Same with dogs. She has not used that leg for almost 2 years and the fluids are building up. We can give her drugs for it, that scares me because of the seizures she has. We have tried to hold the leg up (while she's lying down) and massage it to help the fluid move out but it doesn't seem to help much. Also, she doesn't do anything anymore. I think she's in a lot of pain but being a pit bull we'll never see it. She lays for 8-10 hours at a stretch in one place (that doesn't help the fluid build up either). She will only get up to urinate and if she's in the house she does that on the carpet. I really believe we are facing the end and I think a decision will have to be made soon. Sooner then I want to anyway. Between her and Rocco my vet bills are pretty high. I think for the next dog I get I'll buy some insurance online when they are young so I don't have to pay all this money when they are old. Oh well, we'll just have to keep enjoying her for whatever time we have left. That's about all we can do.
