The Crew

Axl & Lola Brother and sister pitbull/sharpei mixes. Just about 1 year old and very, very high energy. Axl has some fear issues that we are trying to work through and Lola is way too smart.

Mr. P, Ricci, and Tweety - Ringneck parakeets. All three talk up a storm, I'm just waiting for them to start talking to each other.

Sherlock - A mustached parakeet. He's about 8 months old and we are unsure he's a he. I guess we'll find out.

The Rest of the Crew

Chubs and Kiko - a pair of cockatiels that have yet to produce viable eggs.

Monty a blue capped Pionus that we are watching for a family.

The Parakeets - three indistinguishable white ones we collective refer to as "the angels"

Of aging dogs

A common occurrence around my house it to find dog poop in random places. This is because of Rocco's spine problems. The nerves that make it hard for him to control his back legs also make it hard for him to control his pooping. Sometimes he'll be laying there sleeping and it will just come out.

Just a few minutes ago I walked into the living room to find the 3rd poop of the morning (it's only 9 am). I told Rocco I haven't cleaned up this much poop since he and Nala were puppies, and it hit me. The things that we train to do as puppies are the things that go as they get old. It's similar with lots of humans too. Nala has been peeing in the house lately. It could be she can't hold it till she gets outside. It could be that she forgets she's not supposed to go in the house. It could be her brain tumor causing mental problems. Who knows. But as my dogs get older they are reverting back to puppy ways. I'm not enjoying it but I know it will only stop once they are gone and I'm not looking forward to that.

Yeah, it's very sad when they get old, they go back to being very similar to puppies. :( You are such a good Mom.
