The Crew

Axl & Lola Brother and sister pitbull/sharpei mixes. Just about 1 year old and very, very high energy. Axl has some fear issues that we are trying to work through and Lola is way too smart.

Mr. P, Ricci, and Tweety - Ringneck parakeets. All three talk up a storm, I'm just waiting for them to start talking to each other.

Sherlock - A mustached parakeet. He's about 8 months old and we are unsure he's a he. I guess we'll find out.

The Rest of the Crew

Chubs and Kiko - a pair of cockatiels that have yet to produce viable eggs.

The Parakeets - we began with a pair of English Budgies but one got out. We then adopted 2 white parakeets to keep the English company. They had 3 babies. The English is blue & known as Rocky, while the white ones are indistinguishable and collectively called the Angels.

Animal Update Time

Okay, after throwing a hissy fit at the vet, I ended up taking Rocco to his other vet (the acupuncture one) and finally got his prescription refilled. I also had to get Nala's phenobarbital prescription refilled at the vet I threw the hissy fit at, but they really were very understanding and I got the prescription right away. So all the medicine is stocked up and I'm happy again.

Friday night our bird club put on an event, we brought in Dr. Pepperberg from Boston. It was an amazing evening and I think she had a good time too. The day started really early with us on the 6 am news:

That's Dr. Pepperberg with a local news guy and the camera guy. They were on air talking about the intelligence of parrots.

There she is with the events coordinator, the person who put this all together. It was a fantastic event.

The festivities continued that night with her speaking at 6:45 pm:

And finally, a cocktail party to top the night off:

It was great fun but not something I want to do again any time soon :)
