Feathers, Fur and Fins

This weekend we were leaving the house when we noticed something on the fence:

Hmmm, that green thing on the fence doesn't look right.

Upon closer examination this is what we found:



A female Jackson chameleon. I know it's a female because she has no horn. They are pretty common here in Hawaii but I've never had one living in my yard. Hubby picked it up to move it out of harms way:

People keep these guys as pets but I prefer to find it in unexpected places in my yard. I enjoy being surprised by nature.
